A Life Put on Hold
For years, Kayla Switzer had been searching for healing from Lyme disease and the co-infections that accompanied it. She had tried multiple approaches, experienced partial improvements, and continued to face flare-ups, fatigue, inflammation, brain fog, and pain that made daily life difficult to manage.
As a mother of four, Kayla says she reached a point where she was afraid to leave the house. A flare-up could happen at any time, leaving her in debilitating pain and unable to drive. If she did not nap in the afternoon, she might fall asleep at the dinner table while her husband stepped in to manage the evening routine alone.
"I felt like I was surviving the day," she says. "But not thriving."
Then a friend sent her a short testimonial from someone who had visited Biologix Center — a place Kayla had never heard of and was not actively searching for. She began researching, working through the website, reading about therapies, articles, and clinical notes. What she found gave her hope that something meaningfully different was possible.
Kayla's Story at a Glance
I woke up before my alarm this morning. In the past, that would never happen. I woke up not in pain and wanting to get out of bed.
— Kayla SwitzerResearching a Different Kind of Answer
Kayla describes herself as a thorough researcher. Before making any commitment, she read through the Biologix website in detail — looking at the different therapies and making sure she would not simply be repeating what she had already tried.
Two things caught her attention early: the center's approach to Induced Native Phage Therapy (INPT) and the way it was described as working with the body rather than against it. After years of difficult Herxheimer reactions with other approaches — which she described as sometimes feeling worse than the Lyme symptoms themselves — the idea of a gentler, targeted method felt significant.
She also read through clinical material and patient stories describing Lyme not just improved, but cleared entirely. That, she says, was something she had not believed was possible until she read it for herself.

The INPT Experience: Targeted and Gentle
Kayla arrived at Biologix Center with Lyme disease and several co-infections. During her two-week program, she was treated with three separate phage therapies — one for SIBO, one for gastrointestinal issues, and one targeting other viruses and opportunistic microbes.
She described INPT as phenomenal. Within days of beginning therapy for each infection, she says the co-infections were gone. And unlike other treatments she had tried, the experience was notably gentle. She mentions experiencing only a brief, mild fever on one or two occasions — a sign, she understood, of her body's natural immune response activating — rather than the prolonged Herxheimer reactions she had endured before.
Kayla also connects her improvement in energy and inflammation to the other daily supportive therapies she received — particularly HBOT and lymphatic drainage support — which she says helped her body detoxify more effectively throughout her stay.

BES Testing: A New Kind of Precision
Another part of the Biologix experience that stood out to Kayla was Biospectral Emissions Sequencing (BES) testing.
Coming from a background of blood panels and periodic telehealth check-ins, Kayla found BES to be a fundamentally different experience. Rather than a static snapshot from one moment in time, BES allowed her care team to identify what her body needed on a day-to-day — and even dose-to-dose — basis. She described the precision as remarkable: the testing would identify an issue, the right remedy would be selected, and the issue would be addressed quickly.
"Your body changes every single day," she says. "And BES testing can pick up on that — and know exactly what the body needs, and when, and how much."
Kayla acknowledges that the approach can seem unfamiliar to someone coming from conventional medicine. She recommends reading Dr. Jernigan's book, Beating Lyme Disease, to help frame the experience before arriving. Simply being open to something different, she says, made all the difference.

Why the Two-Week Program Mattered
Kayla initially hoped she might only need one week. The time commitment was significant for a mother of four, and the financial commitment was real. But by the end of her second week, she says she fully understood why the extended program was worth it.
The first week brought meaningful improvement. The second week brought deeper healing. Looking back, she frames the two-week structure as a reflection of how much her body had endured over five-plus years — and how much consistent, structured support it needed to begin genuinely recovering.
"In retrospect," she says, "if I can take two weeks of my life and heal exponentially more than what I've done over the past five years, it was definitely worth it."
Biologix Center's What to Expect page explains that programs vary by individual case and symptom complexity, typically ranging from one to three weeks, with daily doctor-guided care, in-house testing, and personalized remedies prepared on-site.

Food Sensitivities: An Unexpected Outcome
On her final day at Biologix Center, Kayla's physician used BES testing to assess her food sensitivities — something she had been carefully managing for years. She had followed a strict anti-inflammatory diet, remained gluten-free, and eliminated sugar and other trigger foods in an effort to keep inflammation under control.
The result surprised her. The testing showed no remaining food sensitivities. She describes being floored. In the past, a single bite of cake could leave her sick for days. Being told those sensitivities were now gone was something she had not anticipated.
Her physician described ongoing wellness as something like a spinning top — once the body is restored to balance and spinning well, it tends to maintain that state unless something disrupts it. Kayla says she plans to continue eating thoughtfully, but she is no longer afraid of a cupcake at her daughter's birthday party.
Going Home: What Kayla Is Looking Forward To
When Kayla describes what she is most excited to return to, it is not one dramatic event. It is the accumulation of small, everyday moments that chronic illness had taken from her family.
Going on adventures with her kids. Hiking. Kayaking. Paddleboarding. Baking with her daughter and actually eating what she makes. Having ice cream without getting sick. Not being afraid to leave the house. Not falling asleep at the dinner table. Being fully present at bedtime.
I'm looking forward to being able to go on adventures with my kids and not worrying about crashing in the middle of the day. You just can't put a price tag on that.
— Kayla SwitzerShe says she would tell anyone in a similar situation — exhausted, discouraged, and running out of options — to take the leap. Her family created a GoFundMe and was overwhelmed by the response from friends and family who simply wanted her better. She and her husband prayed about it, and they went.
"Any investment in your health is worth it," she says. "And this is the best investment I've ever made in my health."

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions based on Kayla's story and the Biologix Center approach.
How long had Kayla been dealing with Lyme disease?
Kayla says she had been battling Lyme disease and related co-infections for more than five years before coming to Biologix Center. She also believes she may have had Lyme for even longer before receiving an official diagnosis, since she never had the classic red rash. Learn more about how chronic Lyme disease presents and progresses.
What symptoms did Kayla describe before coming to Biologix Center?
Kayla described headaches, nausea, chronic fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, pain, flare-ups, gut issues, and food sensitivities. She was sick for roughly two weeks out of every month, unable to take her children on outings without fear of a mid-day crash, and sometimes fell asleep at the dinner table from exhaustion.
What is Induced Native Phage Therapy (INPT)?
INPT stands for Induced Native Phage Therapy. Biologix Center describes it as a proprietary approach that activates native bacteriophages, mycophages, and virophages already present within the body to target harmful microbes. Visit the INPT page for a full explanation, or review the INPT FAQ for common questions.
What is BES testing?
BES stands for Biospectral Emissions Sequencing. Biologix Center describes it as a non-invasive, adjunctive testing method developed by Dr. Jernigan to help identify energetic imbalances and guide individualized care on a daily basis. Read more on the BES page.
Why did Kayla stay for two weeks instead of one?
Kayla initially hoped one week would be sufficient, but her body needed the additional time and support. She experienced meaningful improvement in the first week, but the second week brought deeper healing and more effective detoxification. Biologix Center's What to Expect page describes program length options in more detail.
Does every patient have the same result as Kayla?
No. Kayla's story is one patient's personal experience, and individual results vary significantly. Not every patient achieves the same outcomes, and not every patient is a candidate for care at Biologix Center. Some patients notice improvements during their stay; others experience changes after returning home.
How do I find out if Biologix Center is right for me?
The first step is to complete the New Patient Survey. A Patient Care Coordinator will review your information and follow up to discuss next steps and whether your case may be a fit for the program.
Kayla Switzer — Full Interview Transcript
My name is Kayla Switzer, and I've been battling Lyme disease and various co-infections for over five years now. I've tried so many treatments and modalities to try to get healing. Each thing I tried brought a little measure of healing, but nothing compared to what I've experienced here at Biologix Center.
A couple of months ago, I was at a really low point. I was feeling very sick and very discouraged because everything I was trying just wasn't working. I cried out to God and asked, "What do I do? I want to have my life back."
I have four little ones, and I couldn't even play with them or chase them around like I wanted to. I was afraid to leave the house because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make it home with them. I could get a flare-up at any given time and be in debilitating pain, to the point where I couldn't drive. It just wasn't much of a quality of life.
Then a friend of mine sent me a testimonial from someone who had been to Biologix Center. I had never heard of it before and wasn't even researching it at the time, but it gripped me. She said Biologix Center gave her her life back, and I thought, "That's what I want. I need that. I would love to have my life back."
I started researching. I'm a reader, so I looked through the website and read about the different therapies to make sure it wasn't something I had already tried before. I was very intrigued by Induced Native Phage Therapy and the way it works with your body. I was also interested in the other therapies they offer that help mitigate Herxheimer reactions, because I had years of Herxheimer reactions, and they can make you feel worse than the Lyme symptoms.
I was excited that the approach seemed very gentle but also very effective. I also read articles and clinical studies, and I was amazed by the success rate and by how many people had Lyme not just improved symptomatically, but gone. I didn't even know that was possible.
My husband and I prayed about it. It is a financial commitment, but I knew it would be a good investment if I could experience even half of what these other patients had experienced. I'm so thankful we came. I'm so thankful we made that leap of faith.
Everyone has been so kind. The doctors are great, capable, and attuned to your body. The BES testing is very impressive because they can work with your body and know what your body needs, as opposed to just a blood test that gives you a snapshot in time. The staff is so sweet and supportive.
I feel like I have energy again. I woke up before my alarm this morning. In the past, that would never happen. I woke up not in pain and wanting to get out of bed. To say it has been life-changing is an understatement. I'm so excited to go home to my family, my kids, and my husband and be able to give them my very best every day. You just can't put a price tag on that.
Interviewer:Can you give us a little backdrop of how you got here — what your journey was like before you found Biologix Center?
Kayla:I started having symptoms over five years ago. At first, I thought it was gut-health related, and coming here I found out there was a lot going on in my gut. But I didn't realize it was Lyme until I went to a functional doctor. She ran blood tests, ruled out things like Crohn's disease and other autoimmune issues, and realized I had Lyme.
I'm sure I got a tick bite at some point, but I never had the red rash. I didn't know right away that I had Lyme. I probably had it for years before I found out what it was.
That doctor helped me with supplements and things that helped heal my gut a little and made it easier to digest food and live somewhat normally. I had some measure of healing, but each time I would plateau and then regress.
Then I started thinking I might need to find an actual Lyme-literate doctor. I also tried SOTA Instruments from Canada, including a micropulser and other at-home instruments. That was helpful because my kids were very little, and I didn't feel like I could go anywhere else for treatment at that time. It helped a little, but again, there were a lot of Herxheimer reactions and not a lot of support. I was doing it on my own. It still wasn't healing everything.
Around the time I found Biologix Center, I was probably sick two weeks out of the month. I had headaches, nausea, inflammation, chronic fatigue, and terrible brain fog. I felt like I was surviving the day, but not thriving. If I didn't take a nap in the afternoon, I would literally fall asleep at the dinner table. My husband would sometimes have to come home, finish dinner, and handle the whole bedtime routine with our four little ones because I just didn't have the energy.
It was a very low point. I was losing hope that I would ever feel better. Finding Biologix Center brought me a lot of hope because I could see that people had come through it and beaten Lyme disease.
Interviewer:What stood out to you about the phage therapy or other treatments?
Kayla:Induced Native Phage Therapy is phenomenal. I came with so many co-infections, and within days of finding the infection and starting INPT, it was gone. It was very effective and very gentle. I didn't feel like I was super sick or having terrible Herxheimer reactions, which I attribute to the other modalities they have here, from HBOT to the ST-8 machine. Those therapies help with lymphatic drainage and detoxing. My blood was pretty thick and dark when I came here, and they helped clean that out and make it so much better. I think that contributed to the energy I'm feeling and to not feeling sick and inflamed all the time.
Interviewer:You did a lot of research before coming here. What were your expectations compared with what stood out once you arrived?
Kayla:I tried not to have super high expectations because my hopes had been shattered before. I was hoping for an increase in functionality and less pain. I was not expecting Lyme to be completely gone, so I'm excited about that. I had to open my mind to the idea that Western medicine is very different from the way God designed our bodies to work. Reading Dr. Jernigan's book helped me understand what was happening here, especially with BES testing.
BES testing was different from anything I had experienced before. If you don't understand it, it can look unusual at first. But the results were so specific. They could tell what my body needed, and then it would address the problem quickly. That was very different from telehealth, where a doctor looks at blood results, gives you something, and checks back in a couple of months. Your body changes every day. Here, what my body needed could change daily, and even the dose could change. BES testing could pick up on that and help determine what my body needed, when it needed it, and how much.
Interviewer:This was your first trip, and you were here for two weeks. What was the importance of the two-week program?
Kayla:When I first looked into Biologix Center, I hoped I would only need one week because that seemed easier from a time and financial standpoint. But I'm so glad I stayed for two weeks because my body needed it. I had some healing in the first week, but by the end of the second week there was even more healing. My body needed the detoxing and the extra support. The co-infections that often come with Lyme had taken years to bring me to that point, and in retrospect, if I can take two weeks of my life and heal exponentially more than I had over the past five years, it was worth it. I feel like I had more healing here in two weeks than I would have had in years of normal conventional healthcare.
Interviewer:Did you take phages only for Lyme, or were there other things involved?
Kayla:I had other phages too. I was on three different phages: one for SIBO, one for GI issues, and one for other viruses and microbes. There was a lot going on. When your immune system is down, opportunistic microbes can take advantage. I wasn't surprised that I had co-infections, but I was amazed by how well the phage therapy worked and how many co-infections I had. The symptoms I had struggled with for years were gone within a few days of phage therapy. It was amazing.
Interviewer:What would you say to yourself six months ago, or to someone considering this?
Kayla:Everyone's journey is different. Some people don't start feeling better until after they're home, and that's okay too. For me, I would have told myself, "Just do it. Take the leap of faith and go." We did a GoFundMe, and we were overwhelmed by the love and support from friends and family who wanted me better. We prayed about it, took the leap of faith, and did it. I'm so glad we did. Any investment in your health is worth it, and this is the best investment I've ever made in my health.
Interviewer:What are you looking forward to most when you go home?
Kayla:I'm looking forward to going on adventures with my kids and not worrying about crashing in the middle of the day. Another positive is that my food sensitivities are gone now. My daughter loves to bake, so I'm looking forward to eating the things she bakes, having a cupcake every once in a while, or having some ice cream without getting sick. I'm looking forward to enjoying the simple things in life again and not taking them for granted. I love being outdoors, so I can't wait to go hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding with the kids. I'm excited to take them on adventures again and not be afraid to leave the house.
Interviewer:Did they give you instructions going forward?
Kayla:The idea is that health and wellness are like a spinning top. Once you get it set and spinning well, it keeps going unless something knocks it off course again. Everything in life is balance. I still need to be wise with how I eat. I'm not going to eat sugar every day, but I can enjoy things in moderation. If I feel like I'm having sensitivities again, I can call and come back to see the doctor. There's not even fear of, "What if I get Lyme again?" I'm going to go back out hiking. I might get bitten by a tick again, but I'm not afraid in the same way because I know there is a way out. There is hope, and there is a solution. Just come. I want everyone to experience the healing I've experienced. I'm so thankful I came.
